Hope Worldwide Global Summit
Hope Worldwide, the organization that sent my husband and I to work in an orphanage in East Africa had their 20th Anniversary Global Summit called "Faith, Hope and Love". It was a weekend held at the Marriott Hotel in Northern Virgina. We caught the end of the Conference. I felt they saved the best for last. The speaker that day was Shawn Wooten. He is an American who moved to Kiev, Ukraine. He spoke about the theme of the summit "Faith, Hope and Love.
What stood out to me most was two references he made. As "Faith, Hope and Love" is an excerpt from the Scriptures. He used Jesus' parable of "Yeast" and how you cannot control Yeast. Once it works through the dough it cannot be contained. That's how All three attributes work. Good deeds and people who do good cannot be contained. They pass on their joy and blessings in helping their fellow man and those in and out of their community.
The other example is, if your boss called you into the office on a special assignment and thought you could do it. Would you do it? Okay if the Governor of your City held a press conference to help poor people and chose you, would you do it? Wooten said, "Let's just get bigger". If the President of the United States chose you to help people abroad or in poor neighborhoods, would you do it? Then he said, "Let's just get crazy big". If God........asked you to help as many people as you could, would you do it? That's what his message was all about; loving your neighbor.
1st Corinthians 13:13 "And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."
