Sure. I saw the movie and this line stayed with me. Most people are cautious when it comes to giving, especially financially because they are more focused on what they don't have. In some cases people have grown up feeling as though others have benefited more in life.
The second part of the quote is healthier thinking as it does not immobilize you to give. When you look at what you have, a more optimistic view, you are more appreciative, hence able to see and willing to give to those who are in need.
Mike, Petrina, Melaku & Iyasu: We are excited about our trip to Ethiopia! We started this blog to share our journey with our friends. There is so much to see and do. Three weeks seem so short. Seven years ago we returned to the states from a life changing journey to East Africa where we lived and worked, for two years, with a reputable aide agency called Hope Worldwide. Our priority was to work in an Orphanage. The needs were so great we could not stop there. Petrina started working with homeless "Street" boys and working at the Mental Hospital. Mike started working at the Maternity Hospital setting up their network system. He also spearheaded the first library and playground in the orphanage. We can't wait to see what will be done for this trip!
Interesting. Care to tell us what you are thinking about this quote?
