My Interview on "Journey to Joy".

Hi everyone. I am usually a private person when it comes to my personal life. I had an opportunity to be interviewed by another blog called "Journey to Joy". This will probably be the only time I will post about the most intriguing part of my past. The interview is basically about what brings me joy. But to answer the question I have to go through some tough times to appreciate what brings me joy, today.

So I ask you, "What brings you joy?" You can make a comment below or answer the question by visiting the blog host. To read my interview go to Journey to Joy.

  1. What a wonderful story & thank you for sharing! I know it can be tough sometimes, but I think it's so important for people who have some from nowhere to somewhere to share their journey & be vocal about it. It's so easy to judge "poor" people until you really know somebody & understand their situation. Our world really needs more empathy & listening to others stories is a wonderful way to understand a tragic situation that so many people can really comprehend.

  2. Visiting from SITS. Overcoming struggles is a wonderful feeling, but only when we remember the struggle and empathise with those still there. You are awesome.

  3. visiting from SITS too. What a wonderful blog you have here!

I've found that going through the tough times in life have helped me appreciate the small quiet moments even more. Joy isn't found in what we can get but what we can give.

  4. I found your blog via your line to my blog. I read your story on the other blog. Thanks for the insight into the life of the urban poor. As I stated on the other blog, we grew up in a rural setting near my grandfather and uncle's farms. We were never hungry but I knew how to work hard in order to have food to eat. We were taught to work and cultivate crops. I understand the urban poor better which is who I work with daily. I feel very very badly b/c yesterday I mistakenly told 3 young children (same family) that we were out of extra food after they ate soup with us. We had a big pot of rice that someone had overlooked. Weekends are tough on them. I hope to see them today as I open a free library on their 'hood on Saturday.
